In My Opinion
The main character, Abby, is a simpering whiner in the beginning of this book. The story begins with her lamenting the loss of her boyfriend to her best friend, being disowned by her mother, her absentee father and her general lack of loved ones. When she is turned into a vampire against her will, it is just one more thing to fuel her self-pity. It is hard to feel sorry for someone who seems to have totally given up her power to the whims of the other people in her life.
Fortunately, as the story moves forward, Abby comes into her power and wraps up the story as a strong character. During the story’s progression, we see Abby embrace who she is and become a force to reckon with. Her bravery and courage to face the challenges she is met with in her journeys makes her a likeable character you will begin to root for.
This story is a page turner and the ending will truly surprise you. Don’t think for a second you know what will happen because there are twists and turns throughout the plot until the very last page.
